Caterpillar Hostplants | English Plantain (Plantago lanceolata), Pale-Seed Plantain (P. virginica), Buck-Horn Plantain (P. coronopus), Dooryard Plantain (P. major), Common Plantain (P. rugelii), Cedar Plantain (P. helleri), Tallow-Weed (P. hookeriana); Texas Paintbrush (Castilleja indivisa), Prairie Indian Paintbrush (C. purpurea), Toad-Flax (Linaria vulgaris), Snapdragon Vine (Maurandya antirrhiniflora), Snake-herb (Dyschoriste linearis). Also, various members of the genus Agalinis (formerly Gerardia) are used. |

Sighting Locations | Throughout the metroplex. Norbuck Park, Dallas Arboretum, Texas Discovery Gardens, White Rock Lake, Heard Museum. Lake Lewisville. |
Seasonal Flight Data | March - November |
General Notes | Common throughout the Metroplex, particularly in open fields. Males perch on the ground and dart out after females. Overwinters: Larva and adults. |
