Frosted Elfin (Callophrys irus hadros)

| Caterpillar Hostplants | Blue Wild Indigo (Baptisia australis), Green Wild Indigo (B. sphaerocarpa) and others in this genus; Arrow Crotalaria (Crotalaria sagittalis), also known as Rattlepod. Opler reports Lupinus perennis but other lupines found in our area may also be utilized. |

Sighting Locations | More common south and eastward, however there are also records near Fort Worth. | 
| Seasonal Flight Data | Late February - early April. | 
| General Notes | A somewhat hard to find species in our area. The subspecies in our area is Callophrys irus hadros . Some consider that it might be a separate species from nominate C. irus irus. |
