Specimen above was collected in Glenn Heights (Dallas Co.), Texas on
October 28, 2006 as it took nectar onWhite Mistflower ( Eupatorium wrightii).

 

Caterpillar HostplantsNo known host plants in our area. Within other parts of its range it utilizes members of the Leguminosae, such as Derris elliptica, Lonchocarpus domingensis, Piscidia carthagenensis, Pongamia pinnata.

Seasonal Flight DataA very uncommon stray with only three reports in the north Texas area. Not to be expected until late in the year.
General NotesRange, according to Howe: From southern Florida, western Texas, Arizona and southern California south to Peru and Argentina and through the West Indies.
