Caterpillar HostplantsWinter Cassia (Senna bicapsularis), which does not naturally occur in North Texas. Possibly other Senna and Cassia species..
Area Sighting
Locations
One specimen collected at Kiest Park in Dallas, Texas in 1943.
Seasonal Flight DataAs a stray, if seen at all, it would most likely show up in mid to late summer or fall.
General NotesA rare stray to North Texas, its large size and unusually scalloped wings make it easily distinguishable from the other large sulphurs of our area
